Year 2000 Compliance
For the purposes of this document, "year 2000 compliant" means the software:
will acurately manage and manipulate data involving dates, including, but not limited to, calculating, comparing, and sequencing;
includes single and multi-century formulas and leep year calculations;
will not cause an abnormally ending scenerio within the application, or generate incorrect values or invalid results involving such dates.
TAPEMNGL, the TapeXpert is year 2000 Compliant:
TAPEMNGL, the TapeXpert, in general only copies and reads user data from tapes. It does not manipule the data in any manner. It does not calcuate, compare or sequence data. It does has a multi-century formula for calculating leap years.
TAPEMNGL, the TapeXpert, only generates tape labels using current date and using standard IBM tape labeling code. Therefore if you are running a year 2000 compliant version of MVS (e.g. OS/390), these dates will be in full compliance.
TAPEMNGL, the TapeXpert, does recognize the century byte found on the tape label.
TAPEMNGL does still print some 2 digit year in its report headers but does not sequence or manipulate based on this data.
