Year 2000 Compliance Definition
The term "Year 2000 Compliant" means the ability of software and embedded systems to provide accurate results using data having date ranges spanning more than one century (e.g. the twentieth (20th) and twenty-first (21st) centuries), that is, the ability
(a) to manage and manipulate data involving all dates from the 20th and 21st centuries without functional or data abnormality related to such dates;
(b) to manage and manipulate data involving all dates from the 20th and 21st centuries without inaccurate results related to such dates;
(c) to have user interfaces and data fields formatted to distinguish between dates from the 20th and 21st centuries; and
(d) to represent all data and relations to include indications of the millennium, century and decade as well as the actual year.
By the above definition TAPEMNGL, the TapeXpert is year 2000 Compliant:
TAPEMNGL, the TapeXpert uses the century indicator (1 digit were 0=CC 0f 19 and 1=CC of 20) The IBM standard when making tape labels.
TAPEMNGL, the TapeXpert, does not generate any other data with dates.
TAPEMNGL does still print some 2 digit year in its report headers but does not sequence or manipulate based on this data.
